Join NHF, Karbon Homes and The Guinness Partnership at the Labour Party Conference to discuss the role of housing associations in meeting Labour’s manifesto pledge to deliver the biggest increase social housing in a generation. What are the sustainable, effective solutions to ensure safe, affordable housing for all?

Housing associations already develop a quarter of all new homes in England. With the right funding and support, we could do so much more. A long-term plan, partnered with new policies and funding, would drive economic growth around the country and will be essential to achieving the government’s target to build 1.5 million new homes.

There are currently 8.5 million people in England with some form of housing need. This includes 2 million children living in overcrowded, unaffordable, or unsuitable homes. This crisis not only impacts quality of life but also costs society £18.5bn annually and places an additional £1.4bn burden on the NHS each year.

Join us as we ask, what is Labour’s long-term plan to tackle these issues head-on? How can housing associations and the new government work in partnership to tackle our housing crisis with sustainable, impactful solutions.

Speakers:

  • Rt Hon Angela Rayner MP, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government (invited)

  • Kate Henderson, Chief Executive, NHF

  • Catriona Simons, Group Chief Executive, The Guinness Partnership

  • Dr Charlotte Carpenter, Executive Director of Growth and Business Development, Karbon Homes
