Tom graduated from the University of East Anglia with a First in History, specialising in end of the British Empire. He wrote his dissertation on the role of the Labour Party in the end of empire in Southeast Asia. Whilst studying he spent time at the trade union Unite, working for periods in both their campaigns and politics teams.

After graduating Tom completed an internship at Quintus Public Affairs, primarily providing political research to Higher Education and sport related clients.

At Connect Tom works for a range of clients in both the public and private sectors, as well as providing the secretariat for All-Party Parliamentary Groups.
