Q: Where were you born?

Bradford

Q: What are your academic achievements?

I studied history and philosophy at the University of St Andrews and then gain a Masters in the Politics of the EU at the University of Aberystwyth

Q: What sparked your interest in politics?

I think it was learning about the origins of modern day political divisions in the battles of the 19th and first half 20th century which made me think seriously about politics.

Q: What motivates you?

I think my main motivation is intellectual curiosity

Q: Proudest moment?

Being elected a Councillor last year

Q: Which political person do you most admire?

I don’t really believe in political heroes, as politicians are as human as us all, but I even though I disagree with him on a lot of things am a big fan of Ken Clarke.

Q: How do you relax?

Spending time with friends, theatre, films, reading and, despite living in Central London, I like spending the weekends as tourist in my own city .

Q: When are you happiest?

Probably when I am walking in the North Yorkshire Countryside

Q: Worst political moment?

The 1997 General Election

Andrew was born and brought up in Yorkshire and studied at the University of St Andrews and the University of Aberystwyth. He is an experienced campaigns and public affairs professional with nearly 10 years experience working in Westminster. Prior to becoming a consultant, Andrew worked in the economics team for a major trade association.

Andrew has also worked as the Political Adviser to Alan Duncan MP during a period when he served as Shadow Secretary of State for International Development, Shadow Transport Secretary and Shadow Business Secretary. He has also worked in Conservative Central Office as a member of the Conservative Research Department.

He has recently been elected as a Westminster City Councillor.
