Policing 2012

Policing 2012
12 June 2012, Central Hall Westminster

Join us at Policing 2012, the conference for the sector this year to share ideas and hear contributions from a wide range of leading experts. Policing faces an unprecedented year of change in 2012. Police funding, new private sector partnerships and the consequent re-definition of ‘frontline policing’ are all on the agenda. In addition the introduction of Police and Crime Commissioners and the policing of the 2012 Olympic Games will impact on forces across the country. This major, national, event will set out and analyse what the proposed changes will actually mean; how new structures will work in practice; and how cuts can be managed effectively to minimise impact on frontline service delivery.

Independence Day 2012
How to increase independence, improve care and reduce the costs of an ageing population
4 July 2012

The highly successful Independence Day policy conference returns this summer to promote debate and innovative thinking on how best to achieve independence and meet the needs of an older population.

The eagerly anticipated Social Care White Paper is due to be released in April and the sector will see how many of the recommendations from the Dilnot Commission will be taken up. Calls for a cross-party consensus to overhaul the social care system and renewed rhetoric to show the Government's commitment to the integration of health and social care services, makes it essential the sector comes together to inform the policy debate and ensure that all older people are afforded the independence, dignity and quality of care they deserve. In addition to this, Independence Day will feature the opportunity to learn about the latest innovations taking place in the sector and showcase best practice from the front line, in the popular innovation zone and masterclass sessions.
